Current Love... Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine

I always love to try new things, which is why my friends like to ask me my opinion on products. I love when my friends come to me about what I like. So I decided to write about Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine. I am all for spending alot on a product you love but why would you when you can buy something that works just as good for less? I personally have a ton of hair, even if I lost a lot of hair I'd still have enough. Recently I wrote about donating my hair to Locks of Love. I have so much hair we had to use two ponytails. For my hair I need a thick conditioner. And that's how I got here, Garnier Fructis re-formulated their line and bottles. So I got to test it out thanks to BzzAgent. My first thoughts were that it was a lot easier to open the bottles, their previous bottles were hard to open with wet hands. Then I noticed the shampoo was a bit fruity, It's a strong fresh smell. Which I liked, I can see how some people might not like that but I did. The best part of the duo though is the conditioner. For the price you can't beat it. It detangled my hair and it actually worked. My hair has looked great lately. I've used far more expensive brands and this does measure up. But I think it's really about finding what works for your hair. That could mean trying out a few brands. As for me this is working great.

Summer fun running through the sprinkler!

My story of donating my locks to Locks of Love

On Friday I had an appt at the hair salon to get highlights and a cut. Something I had been needing to do for a while. My hair was lacking on the hair love department. All things that happen when your a mom. For whatever reason you tend to put yourself on the back burner. So on Friday I so happily went to get my hair done. I went to a salon I hadn't been to before because my friend/stylist had switched salons. This salon was neat, very big but very cozy at the same time. When I got back to Jeannie's chair I told her how I wanted to do two shades of blonde highlights and just some layers, maybe a side bang. So she started foiling and we started catching up. Let me just tell you... I have a ton of hair. It's not an understatement. I've always had a ton of hair. Alot of hairstylist that walked by even commented on it. "Wow look at all that hair". It's always something that made me giggle! I'm sure stylist's see my hair as alot of work! Just because there's so much of it. I always try to take great care of my hair.
Jeannie told me my hair was in great shape. Something I was shocked by. I do take great care of it but I hadn't had a cut in a while! I guess all those protective products I had been using worked! Take care of your hair ladies(and gents!). Then came the time to wash the highlights out. As we went to the shampooing room we both smelled a perm being done. She was in the shampoo room. We both made a small joke about how we could smell her. As Jeannie was washing out my highlights another stylist came in and we all started talking. He was saying again how I had so much hair. We all made comments on how we wished we had different hair. Everyone wants what they don't have right? Well I commented on wanting less hair. Only because mine is so thick! And on came the topic of donating to Locks off Love.
Donating to Locks of Love is something I have always wanted to do. I just didn't think they could take my hair because it wasn't virgin hair. I even made the comment to Jeannie and the other stylist that I would donate but I didn't think I could. That's when they both said I could! If you think about it not many people have virgin hair now. Meaning we all get our hair colored and highlighted, so it's not virgin. Jeannie told me that they do accept colored hair as long as it's not fried. And my hair wasn't fired. It was in good shape. Let me tell you the decision was easy! As soon as I knew I could I said "Ok let's cut it!". Locks of Love takes hair donations to make wigs for kids with cancer. It's an amazing thing to donate to. Your hair grows back, so donating was the easiest decision for me. My hair grows so fast that I could likely donate again by the end of the year. Which I am planning to do again. Just think you may be missing a little bit of hair but now a kid with cancer gets the chance to feel more normal.
I hope that more of my friends will donate now that they see how easy it is. So I'm challenging my friends, girls grow your hair out. Keep your hair in good shape, and Donate! On their website they state that they need 10 inches of hair to make a hairpiece. 10 inches is what I donating. Next time I hope to donate a longer amount. So I just might go shorter with my haircut. I would love if you would go to their website and get a feel for what they are about. It's a great and easy cause to donate to. So please grow, grow, grow, and Donate soon! I am so happy I did!

Butter London Lippy Collection

The Butter London Lippy Collection are specially made Lipgloss to match the Butter London nail lacquers. I got these about a week ago and I have to say I love them. The colors are so bold. They have reviews online about them being sticky. I found they were sticky if you only put on one coat. I think it's best to use two coats on each lip. It helps the color look more even and bold. And it also prevents that sticky feeling. If you are looking for a fun bright color for spring I'd recommend them. You can find them at Ulta for about $17 each. I am planning to wear the bright red color for date night! I'll post a pic when I do!

If your interested in them yourself you can find them here on Ulta.com

Writing the truth...

All to often I read blogs and get the feeling that well they don't really like the products they are reviewing. I think anyone can tell when someone really likes something. I'll use an example. Recently a blogger wrote about a skincare line that I knew to be total crap! And I usually don't use those words but this skincare line is terrible. The blogger wrote how she loved it and it was affordable. Her blog post seemed all to scripted. Which I'm sure it was. Some bloggers are paid to say nice things about a product. Which is fine for them. But for me I will never write about things I don't personally love. I would never tell a friend or anyone reading this to try something that wasn't simply great. So that being said I want you to know I am honest in what I write about. Right now I only blog for the fun and informative side of it. And I enjoy it. If you take the time to read my blog I  appreciate you! So only the best :) - Ashley

My Mom came to visit

Hi everyone, sorry if I have been MIA for the past week. My mom came into town and I wanted to give her my full attention. We had a great visit. I can't believe I hadn't seen her since August. I hope we never have to go that long without seeing each other. My mom soaked up all her time with fynley, she really missed her. And I think she missed me too :) ! Ok I know she did. We went shopping, to the zoo, and the beach! We were super busy with Gigi (As Fynley calls her). Sadly my mom is already back home. The visit went by way to fast. I will be sure to upload some pics when she emails them to me. For now I have a pic of our trip to the Zoo. We got to feed the giraffe. Adam held Fynley up so she could feed the giraffe too, she wasn't scared at all. She grabbed feed and put it right in the giraffe's mouth. It was a cute moment!

Discover it Monday! What to do with those old kid's clothes?

As I was watching The Today Show this morning I discovered a new concept in consignment. It's called ThredUP. It's a website where you request a bag, fill it with your clean used kid's clothes. It is then picked up by UPS/USPS and sent to ThredUP. This is at no cost to you. They send you a confirmation email when they receive your bag of clothing. They then go through the clothes you send. Pick clothing that can be resold, and they donate the items they can't resell. They then sell the gently used clothing on their website for you. Under your account on the site they set up a payment for you via paypal. You can "Cash Out" whenever your payment is ready. I have requested a bag from them and I will keep you updated on the process. If you'd like to discover ThredUP visit their website at www.ThredUP.com

My Oscar Sunday and my nails to match

I ran errands earlier today, by myself! As a mom you don't always get a lot of "Me" time. Today I decided to run errands after we had a little family trip to Publix & Krispy Kreme! We bought a new car a few days ago and I wanted to go for a drive. We decided to go to a Publix further away and then to Krispy Kreme. I received free donut coupons a few weeks ago. I figured a Sunday drive and donuts would hit the spot. I was right!

As I did my errands alone I found myself lost! Have you ever gotten time to yourself and just didn't know what to do? Well that was me in Target and Walmart today. I had a few things to pick up but nothing major. So I started roaming the aisles. A common problem when I get "Me" time. Well scratch that it's a problem for my wallet!

As most people know (well most woman know) today was the Oscars! And I didn't just want to sit and watch. I love to pamper myself and have a cocktail when I watch award shows. I mean why not?! So I stumbled upon the nail/makeup aisle. Sure let's call it stumbling ;) I knew where it was! I looked around and found new nail products. Among the one's I was eyeing were the Kiss-Nail Dress: Ultimate Nail Fashion (Jeweled Strips). These looked very fitting for the Oscars. It features a jewel like effect that makes it look like your wearing crystals on your nails. The price sealed the deal only $5-6! That was a bit cheaper than another brand I was looking at.

My verdict- So far so good! They are so easy to apply! Unlike other types of nail strips you don't have to rub these on. You simply peel, stick, and file! That's all! I bet my girlfriends will all be rocking these soon!

Oh so Natural and Clean

As I've said in a previous post I have sensitive acne prone skin. So finding a product that's good for my skin can be hard. I usually go for plain sensitive skin care. But that being said I've been looking for something paraben free, and with better ingredients. I've trusted Neutrogena for years. It works and it's also affordable. Still I searched for a better option. That's when I found Neutrogena Naturals! It is paraben free, contains no harsh chemicals sulfates, and no dyes! This product seemed perfect. So I gave it a try.

My verdict- Neutrogena Naturals is amazing! It works on my skin without drying it out. It also suds up to a nice light foam texture. Which is something I like, I don't like the feeling of thick foams or lots of bubbles on my face. It goes on smoothly and cleanses your face with a light fresh scent. I would recommend this product to everyone. You can't beat the price and that is lacks harsh chemicals! Huge plus in my book.

For people who buy products based on how Eco friendly they are, you will also love Neutrogena Naturals. The bottle is made up of 50% post consumer recycled materials. Neutrogena is committed to making more sustainable packaging. Which is something I also really liked. I think your getting a real bargain with this line. As always Neutrogena is recommended by Dermatologists!

The product I use is the Neutrogena Naturals purifying facial cleanser. I plan to buy the other products they have when my current ones run out.

(My opinion is my own, I was not paid or provided w/product! Purchased w/my own money.)

The Lorax movie

So I haven't blogged in a few days. So sorry about that. I have been busy with a few things. I am going to do a few product reviews in a few days on products you should buy and ones you shouldn't. Anyways... So while I have been researching I came across a new movie coming out in March! (March 2nd to be exact)

I'm going to post a trailer so you can see! It looks so cute!!!
Here you go...
